PMCQ Holiday Ball

On Saturday, November 28th guests from near and far came to Le Centre Sheraton to celebrate the season at the annual PMCQ Holiday Ball. Our theme was ‘The Magic of the Holidays in Montreal’ and all efforts were made to ensure that the evening was indeed magical for our guests.

The evening began with the twinkling of Holiday lights and the glow of the ever changing ‘magical balls’ tucked away among the poinsettias. Guests were quickly transported to Holidays past as the angelic voices of the Children’s World Academy Choir entertained one and all with their selection of Holiday favourites. In turn, they received a well-deserved standing ovation.

Paul Chacra and the 1945 Orchestra provided the evening’s entertainment including jazz, rock, blues and the perfect mélange of Christmas carols. Their special blend of instrumentals and featured singers had all the guests dancing. Space on the dance floor was indeed at a premium as Paul and his orchestra kept everyone dancing until the wee hours of the morning.

Lina Boudreau, the French/Acadian chanteuse charmed us with two guest appearances and provided copies of her Christmas CD for all to enjoy.

Perhaps you had a chance to bid on one of the items during the Silent Auction. All items were kindly donated by various sponsors. In total we collected just over $6,200 and all monies raised will be equally divided between the Montreal Children’s Hospital and l’Hôpital Sainte-Justine.

Many of our guests won beautiful Door Prizes that were supplied by our generous sponsors. In addition, our Platinum Plus and Platinum sponsors provided additional funding to make the evening even more magical for our guests. And of course, thank you to the many volunteers who contributed with their time and hard work to make the evening magical for all to enjoy. Without the generous contributions of our sponsors and the many volunteers, it would not be possible to provide everything that we do for our guests.

I do hope that you had a wonderful time at the PMCQ Holiday Ball and take this occasion to wish one and all a healthy, happy and prosperous New Year.
