Women represent 50% of the population and yet when it comes to clinical health research, they are underrepresented, with incredibly serious consequences for women.
Join us on December 15th, as Dr. Einstein will present how diseases and treatments might affect the sexes differently and how we need to contribute to a more complete understanding of how sex and gender shape health outcomes.
The session will include an overview of the topic, reasons why it is important to consider sex & gender and provide a few specific examples of what one finds in Alzheimer’s disease.
Dr. Gillian Einstein is a faculty member at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health and the Department of Psychology at the University of Toronto, and holder of the inaugural Wilfred and Joyce Posluns Chair in Women's Brain Health and Aging.
Join us this month as we examine gender disparity in clinical health research and how we can chart the course forward.
